The argument of balance between tier 1 TD's just seems somewhat moot considering tank gameplay is tedious and underwhelming to begin with across all factions.

Tanks in general are so underwhelming and any steps they have taken to improve their gameplay have fallen well below expectations. I think most of his future intentions are laid to rest now that he is no longer with the company. RB said a lot of things that never reached the light of day. He had said that he was working on the proper optics for this feature but as we know it was never delivered. To the point though, SU-76 was supposed to have the ability to shoot indirectly as RB had promised in a livestream before the introduction of tier1 tds. The argument is more a failed token/timer system and poor match making criteria than it is balance for Soviet tanks imo. I think it would be more fair to say that you see more KT's spawned because there are twice as much GE players and significantly more long term GE players. The only they had going for them was PTRD, which was frustrating for sure, but not the point to characterize them as “infantry based”. They had superb SMGs but were nerfed to the ground (first PPSh, then PPS) within a year of their introduction and at the same time AVS was a meme, nothing to it’s current status, mainly because of excessive recoil and they had no tier2 LMG. When the Soviets were first added, they were to be primarily infantry focused T-34-76 though is arguably the best tier1 MT. In its current state, Su-76 is the worst tier1 td. After all, we see more KTs spawned in an hour than ever built. Historical accuracy cannot be an excuse for lack of balance in a game.
